The Woman Behind the Lens

Hello, lovely person or persons! I’m Rebekah, and I have been taking photographs since I received my first Kodak film camera in the late 1990s. Since then, I haven’t been able to put the camera down. The joy I am able to give and receive from taking photographs is euphoric. It doesn’t matter the subject material; as long as the client is comfortable and loves the shots, then nothing else matters.

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Communication from Asbury University. During my time at Asbury, I was a production intern with the news station WLEX18. At WLEX18, I operated cameras, audio, master control, and graphics during live news shows. I have also learned how to trim commercials for air and how a news station operates on a daily basis. Aside from my internship, I was a camera operator during some chapel services. I worked with the yearbook team to finalize past years' yearbooks. I directed the school newspaper's, the Asbury Collegian, Facebook Live Broadcast of Election Night 2016.

My current full-time position as a technical director at a weekday morning news show, although I am also trained as a camera operator and audio operator. The fast pace of the news shows is exciting, and I have learned even more about creating a great product under pressure.

Next to photography and production, I love to work on my car, travel around the country, build different lego sets, and hang out with my friends. I have traveled to France, Spain, Canada, and the 48 continental United States, all before I turned 21 years old.
